BETTINA GRUBERT, AIA

Bettina Grubert, AIA, is the President at Flair Architects, Inc. and began her career with the firm in 2005. She has managed several award-winning projects for prominent homebuilders and developers in the Western United States, specializing in residential construction.

Originally brought on-board as a Junior Designer, Bettina was soon promoted to Job Captain, Project Manager and eventually Associate. In 2016, Bettina was named President of Flair Architects, Inc. after, Don Flair, the founder of the firm, retired after 35 years.

In addition to running the firm, her responsibilities include everything from design and construction to administration and project management. Bettina’s attention to detail and ability to take a project from concept to completion makes her an essential part of Flair Architects, Inc.

Born and raised in Darmstadt, Germany near Frankfurt, Bettina attended the University of Applied Sciences in Darmstadt and graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Architecture Degree (Dipl. Ing. Architektur). She now resides in Mission Viejo with her family.

DONALD G. FLAIR

Don Flair is the founder of Flair Architects. Born in Long Beach, California, Don attended California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo where he graduated in 1974 with a Bachelor Degree in Architecture.

In 1983, Don Flair formed a partnership with Kenneth Paddock, A.I.A. and founded the firm of Paddock & Flair Architects. The firm completed a variety of projects including office, industrial, hospitality, senior housing, retail, space planning and residential projects.  In 1994, Don formed the firm of Flair Architects, a full service architectural firm specializing in Design, Planning and Interior Design. The firm focus has been primarily on residential, mixed-use and commercial projects.

Don served as the past chairman of the American Institute of Architects Historical Preservation Committee as well as a committee member to the OCCAIA design awards committee and juror for the Women’s Architectural League annual high school design competition. He is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) and licensed in the States of California, Louisiana and Nevada.
